A Greek language celluloid pinback button promoting Dwight D. Eisenhower for president, 1956. This is one of X buttons the "I like Ike" foreign language series issued by the Republican National Committee. It reads "E.H. Green" on the curl.
This is the first in an ongoing series of foreign language or nationality campaign buttons issued by the RNC. It was followed by a series for Nixon in 1960, Goldwater in 1964, Nixon in 1968 & 1972, Ford in 1976, and Reagan in 1980 and 1984.
The RNC also issued a series of foreign language campaign pamphlets for Landon and Dewey, focused on nationalities.
